Hello Friends & Family!
Meet my friends Biyinzika Yusuf & his beautiful wife Shilah Katumba.
Shilah is a teacher and Biyinzika has a juice shop; however, their hearts are for helping those who cannot help themselves. They have a registered NGO (non-government organization) for those in need called Hope Haven Foundation and a registered community based organization called Hands of Love in the Mityana District of Uganda. These organizations provide care and support for orphaned and abandoned children. They work to give these children a safe and loving home, support with education, and prepare them for a better future by providing vital services such as food, shelter, education, healthcare, and emotional support.
As of now, they have 25 children and are attempting to become self sustainable to provide food long term for the children.
Here's the deal, they were offered a land purchase at $5,000. They have currently paid $3,200 towards the purchase and have $1,800 outstanding. It is large task where they live to come up with this sort of money. The amount of work they have completed on this land would make anyone's jaw drop. If you would like before and after pictures, Id love to share. The most exciting is that they have Maize growing incredibly already. However, they have not fully paid for the land and the owner is threatening to take it back. Anyone would feel defeat after spending the time they have celebrating, clearing, preparing, planting and caring for land that could be taken away in a moments notice.
I am asking for help for my friends. Their hearts are to take care of these sweet children, as we all know- the world needs more humans like this. We are very fortunate in America to live with the luxuries we have while they merely need basic necessities for surviving. I understand there is apprehension in international giving, So, I can provide all organizational documentation, receipt books, budget, and Biyinzika will send whatever video updating you would like. He loves to communicate through Whatsapp and is available to offer any accountability as needed. I requested this from him extensively prior to giving.
My thoughts are this:
If we have 250 people donate $20 each, this would allow them to payoff the land purchase and become completely self sustainable. It would cover one years rent at the orphanage, pay the "Home Mother" caretaker for one year, and would leave $1,800 left for them to purchase food and water for their current and future needs. Instead of one fast food meal, you could seriously impact 28 peoples lives for the better. More than that, this would provide a world of hope to orphaned kids who don't have parents. If you can give more, please consider.

We can help be the change in this world, one person at a time. Love will ALWAYS triumph. I'll leave you with one of my favorite quotes:
“Each smallest act of kindness reverberates across great distances and spans of time, affecting lives unknown to the one whose generous spirit was the source of this good echo, because kindness is passed on and grows each time it's passed, until a simple courtesy becomes an act of selfless courage years later and far away...Likewise, each small meanness, each expression of hatred, each act of evil.
