The Sheriff's pound in Polk Country, Florida, is heavily dependent on donations for stray doggies. For years I have made a monthly donation of 50 pounds of doggie chow, anonymously, as I feel true compassion does not ask for a tax receipt. However, recently inflation has eroded my budget to where I cannot meet this charitable goal alone. I donate in person second Saturday morning of each month.
This is not the local shelter or a rescue. The Sheriff's pound must end those dogs which are not adopted. I feel these unlucky doggies should enjoy the best food I can provide in their time left. Prices have soared beyond my means and last month I was able to bring just 36 pounds.
I ask nothing for myself and will expand all donations to the greatest quantity of the best quality food available. Asking for help is a first for me and I will account for everything. In loving memory of JeePee, my constant companion, who passed away December 11, 2024.
