Eabametoong Loss of School
Would you like to join me in making a difference? I'm raising funds to support the Eabametoong Loss of School Fund, and every donation counts. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
On January 25th, 2024, the Eabametoong First Nation tragically lost their only school to a fire. This devastating event affected the entire community, leaving children without a place to learn and grow. Rebuilding a permanent school for the Eabametoong First Nation is not just about getting back into the classroom; it symbolizes hope and a brighter future for the community.
Despite their loss, the children of Eabametoong have shown incredible resilience and strength. Personally, they have inspired me in profound ways. After undergoing ACL surgery on my left knee on May 15th, I doubted if I would ever be able to participate in sports again. Hearing about the Eabametoong First Nation’s loss and witnessing the strength of their children motivated me to persevere. Their spirit and determination have been crucial in my own recovery journey.
To honour their strength and support the rebuilding efforts, I will be biking 250km to raise $1000 for the Eabametoong Loss of School Fund. Your support means the world to me, and I'm excited to have you join me on this journey!
Update!
Thank you for all of your support. Since I reached my goal so fast, I want to double my goal. Thank you everyone for your support thus far!
