Hi, My name is Lyndsey Klein and for those of you that don't know me I am very connected to the softball world and passionate about our sport. I played my whole life and played in college at UCLA as well as the USA Team. As an adult my passion continues as I teach kids the game I love and give back to the community. I always do what it takes to help with the sport of softball and support those in need. At this time I am asking for your help for a good friend of mine. I teach and train his daughter. Many of you know the Powell family because of their extreme dedication to softball. If you don't know Chris Powell I am asking you to help this family because you know me or someone that knows him.

Last Monday Chris was at work and it was a normal day just like all the rest. When suddenly his life changed in an instant. Chris along with other co workers were moving steel towers in a substation when all of the sudden one of the towers broke free. Chris had no where to go as a 3,000LB steel tower hit him and pinched him in between another steel tower that was installed in the substation. Chris's life was in danger. They had to lift him out and rush him to the hospital with life threatening injuries. He is lucky to be alive but has a long road ahead. The steel towers crushed his stomach as well as his pelvis. As the steel beam fell to the ground it landed on his heel. He endured a 9 hour surgery on Tuesday where they replaced his pelvis with a bionic one. He has a seperated pelvis on the left side and completely crushed it and all the muscles tore off of it. He also has a fractured tailbone, severe internal bruising and a huge laceration on his right hand.
I went to see Chris the other day and he is in good spirits and hopes for a full recovery but he will be in the hospital for quite some time and then rehab. He cannot even move at this time. He cannot work so as his friend I am asking for donations so his family does not feel more burden and debt at this time. His wife Sami and his two daughters Madison and Peyton appreciate the help.
Thank you for your time and even if you can donate $10 we really apprecitate it.
