We are the Caribbean Cultural Club (CCC) at the University of Guelph, a student-led organization dedicated to celebrating Caribbean culture and supporting our community both on and off campus.
Many of our members have family and friends in Jamaica, so the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa hits deeply. The hurricane has brought heavy rains, flooding, and widespread destruction, leaving families displaced and essential supplies scarce. While the storm continues, we are preparing to support relief efforts as soon as it is safe to do so.
We are passionate about our people and our culture, and this tragedy hits close to home as we await calls and messages from loved ones in Jamaica to confirm that they are safe. In the meantime, we are channeling our concern into action—doing everything we can to help.
#CCCCares was first launched over four years ago during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic to help spread hope and joy throughout the Caribbean. Since then, it has become a tradition of compassion and community care. Today, we continue that legacy—this time by bringing relief to those in urgent need.
All proceeds from this fundraiser will be donated directly to trusted organizations and community initiatives working to support relief and recovery efforts in Jamaica. While we are not officially affiliated or partnered with any of these organizations, we will be directing funds toward verified relief channels, including the Support Jamaica-Official Disaster Relief & Recovery Portal, Food For The Poor Jamaica, and ReclaimRebuildegwest, a not-for-profit organization currently sending barrels of supplies and essentials from Toronto to affected families in Jamaica.
These groups provide emergency food, clean water, hygiene kits, medical items, baby supplies, and support for rebuilding homes and communities. We are also working with various individuals and local partners to help in any way possible, from collecting hygiene products and canned goods to contributing directly to grassroots relief efforts.
Transparency is at the heart of this campaign; all funds raised will go toward verified relief work, and updates will be shared publicly on our platforms as the situation evolves.

Together, we can make a difference—one small act of care at a time—because CCC cares.
