The nightmare started with Chris's diagnosis of Prostate Cancer in 2015.  Having his prostate removed resolved the issue.  Karen and Chris were relieved and life continued as normal.  In 2018 Hurricane Florence destroyed their home  Their focus was to get back in their house.  That focus changed on October 8, 2018 when Chris was once again diagnosed with Small Cell Lung cancer.  This is a very aggressive cancer.  Chris spent several extended stays in the hospital as he began Chemotherapy and Radiation.  Although the prognosis was unfavorable from the start, Chris and Karen wanted to fight.  Two weeks after the diagnoses came, Karen broke her wrist leaving her unable to perform her work.  As the Doctors ordered more test, they news continued to be unfavorable.  The cancer has spread to his bones, brain stem and other lung.  Chris is unable to be left alone due to the tumor on his brain.  He went for a non invasive surgery called Gamma Knife for the brain tumor.  The follow up showed five new places on his brain.  On August 1, 2018 Chris broke his clavicle (collar bone in three places.  Due to the cancer in the bone they are unable to do surgery to repair it.  As if all that wasn't hard enough to hear, Chris also has tumors on his colon that is a different type of cancer.  Chris has three different types of cancer ravishing his body daily and continues to take its toll.  Please consider donating to help them stay in their home as the is a last wish of Chris's.  Karen is unable to work full time due to Chris having to be monitored 24/7.
