Dear Friends and Family,
Joe and I recently came across Simba in a heartbreaking condition. He was skin and bones, barely able to stand or walk for more than a couple of minutes. Despite it all, his eyes lit up the moment he saw us and his tail to this day hasn’t stopped wagging.
We couldn’t walk away. We brought him to the vet and learned that Simba was severely anemic and neutropenic. With proper care, there’s so much hope for him—but the road to recovery hasn’t been easy.
Over the past month, we’ve been feeding Simba around the clock, managing medications, attending appointments, and getting him caught up on vaccinations. Thanks to all that love and care, he’s gained weight and made progress—but he’s still weak and struggling to move around on his own.
Simba isn’t in immediate danger anymore—he’s safe and surrounded by love—but continuing his care has been emotionally and financially overwhelming. We’ve done everything we can, and we’ll keep doing everything we can, but we’re reaching out to ask for help easing the burden so we can keep giving Simba the care he deserves.
Any amount, no matter how small, would make a big difference for Simba and for us. Your support would mean the world.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for being part of Simba’s second chance.
To know Simba, is to love him.
With love,
Maribeth, Joe, & Simba
