Life came crashing down for this wonderful young lady February 25, 2016!
My daughter, Melissa, is a charming and active 14 year old who has had a zest for adventure, animals and helping others. She is active in church and youth group. Melissa aspires to go into a career in law enforcement, is taking career classes in high school for this and wanted to go on to college.
Her illness has sidelined her life.
I (Kurt)am a single dad raising Melissa by myself and doing the very best I can.
Unfortunately, she was hospitalized for 2 weeks with severe depression and anxiety. She has had to withdraw from her school and will continue in full time outpatient care for at least 4 more weeks. After this care she will continue in weekly counseling and psychiatric care for a period of at least 1 year. (All this while I have been experiencing long term respiratory illness- since July 2015- with hospital, ongoing doctors, continued CT scans as well as multiple specialists expenses)
Current expenses for myself and my daughter have become unmanagable and we have exhausted our savings.
My daughter is all to aware-even when I try to hide our financial situation. The burdens have added to her despair.
I am not one to ask for help but find myself more concerned with my daughters health than my pride.
Our current medical expenses are at $15,673.47 and are projected to exceed, at minimum, another $6490.71 for a total of $22,164.18 The money collected will go to the hospitals, doctors, counselors and continued therapy for Melissa.
My daughter is the most important person in my life and deserves to have long term health and contentment. The life of a wonderful young lady needs help. This is a young lady who will touch the lives of many people!
Your help for Melissa will be the greatest gift our family could receive.
