Dog Iris Saves Owner, Needs Surgical Support
On May 10th, Iris, the German Shepard, was injured while protecting her family from a knife-wielding assailant. The attacker managed to plunge the sharp object into her face and in doing so sliced completely through her nose from the eye all the way down and through her nose. The emergency and surgical doctors at the Southern Oregon Veterinary Specialty Center in Central Point, Oregon were able to examine Iris and feel she would be a good candidate for reconstructive surgery. The surgical repair will be extensive, but both the emergency veterinarian and the surgeon have an optimistic view of her recovery. Due to the level of care required, costs will be extensive and the family is asking for any financial support the community might be willing to provide. All proceeds will be used to cover medical expenses related to care for Iris and any excess proceeds will be donated to charity. The family is still determining which charity, but this page will be updated with that information as soon as one is selected.

Contributions cannot be accepted directly at the facility and anyone wishing to provide financial support should do so using this GoFundMe page.
