Gabriel's Battle Against Cancer
Donation protected
Gabriel Caldwell was recently diagnosed with Stage 3B rectal cancer at 32 years old, due to an inherited genetic condition known as Lynch Syndrome. He is a loving husband, father of two darling children, son, brother, friend and beloved Special Education teacher at Ashburn Elementary School in Loudoun County, Virginia. Any help that you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
Currently, Gabe is receiving a six-week chemo and radiation treatment from the University of Virginia, the closest location that's offering a new approach to knocking out rectal cancer. While the traditional approach includes life-altering surgery regardless of the need, this new approach gives radiation a longer time to work and uses chemotherapy to shrink the tumor, helping patients avoid surgery (in 30-40% of cases) or have less extensive surgery.
Unfortunately, as you may guess, this is an expensive time for Gabe and his family. The total cost of everything will come to around $30,000, due to time away from work, eight weeks of lodging in Charlottesville and associated travel costs, treatment cost and his wife Julia’s temporary leave of absence from work.
Any amount that you could donate to help him reach his $30,000 goal would be greatly and deeply appreciated. If you're not in a position to donate, you can still send Gabe your well wishes and positive energy. That's quite important too. We just all want to see our family member and friend return to excellent health and top form as soon as possible.
Thank you so much and we’ll post updates as soon as we have them.
Have a most terrific day.
