Hi everyone!
Just recently one of my best friends was diagnosed with breast cancer. With only being 28 and not having any family history of this type of cancer it is shocking news to her and a lot too take in.
Nicole has a passion for the ocean and saving the environment. She is determined to change this world ! She currently is working on the new St Pete pier at the Tampa Bay Watch Center. There she gets to do what she loves and take care of marine life animals and educate the community. She is absolutely the best at what she does!
Unfortunately, Nicole was recently diagnosed with triple-negative, stage 3 breast cancer. This type of breast cancer is highly invasive in that it grows and spreads rapidly. The cancer is in her lymph nodes but with such an amazing oncology team and group of doctors she has a curative treatment plan in progress.
So over the next year, she will undergo 5 months of chemotherapy, followed by surgery, radiation and immunotherapy. During this time, Nicole would love to continue to work; however with how physically demanding her job is that may not be an option.
Anything raised will allow Nicole to take the time she needs to heal without worrying financially. Donations will go towards her taking time off, various oncology treatments and future testing.
Throughout this process, Nicole is handling this situation the best a 28 year old women would and that just trying to remain positive. She is a fighter, a warrior and WILL be a survivor. Nicole makes it it very clear that cancer has picked the wrong person!!! She has always been focused on supporting others, but now she needs our support.
Thank you for joining Nicole's support team! I will be sure to post updates throughout her treatment.
XOXO,
Meg
