Maya’s Journey
Donation protected
Maya was born with a condition called Hirschsprung’s disease. At 4 days old she had her first surgery removing a portion of her colon. However, it still didnt work. She has had almost 70cm of colon removed since her first surgery. She’s had multiple rectal biopsies, 14 rounds of rectal Botox, close to 100 hospital admittances for illnesses and bowel troubles. Failure to thrive, unable to eat, in constant pain. In just 3 years of life she has had over 100 combined surgeries and procedures on her little body. Getting an ileostomy bag placed was the absolute last resort to try and help her live a life that isn’t suffocated with constant pain. We will be in the hospital anywhere from 1-2 weeks. Not to mention the constant back and forth for check ups and g tube changes for the next month or two.
