A Fight for a Cure

To all the friends, family, colleagues, and acquaintances following Wes Anderson’s fight against cancer, the time has come to raise money for the fight of his life.

Wes’ cancer is unique in that it doesn’t respond to chemo or radiation. Surgery is the gold standard for ES, but since Wes’ cancer metastasized in his bones, it is not an option. However, with love, diligence, and unrelenting waiver of Wes, family, and friends, we believe we have found a path to a cure. It is not the “ordinary” cancer treatment path, and therefore will require extraordinary help. Treatment will be overseen by Dr. Chang, Oncologist and leader of Meridian Medical in Manhattan, NY. https://meridianmedical.org/ Dr. Chang was an Oncologist with Memorial Sloan Kettering before he founded Meridian Medical. Under Dr. Chang’s care, Wes will have access some cutting edge immunotherapy drugs that have been proven effective in Sarcoma patients and particularly resonate with bone cancer patients. Wes will need to undergo T-Cell therapy in Manhattan monthly, as well as receive his Dendritic Cell Therapy vaccine. Establishing the vaccine will require Wes to travel to Germany to meet with Dr. Thomas Nesselhut, Dr. Chang’s partner from the Institute of Cell Therapy. We estimate a year of these drugs and treatments will cost over $100,000, and insurance will not assist with any costs since these are drugs aren’t FDA approved. Unfortunately, medicine in US is just too slow, and we don’t have time to waste.
