Support Courtney's Recovery

Donation protected
On November 5, Courtney was about to let her dog out for the last time that evening when he saw a mouse at the bottom of the stairs. He pulled hard on his leash pulling Courtney to the bottom of the stairs. With a severed C4 vertebrae and unable to move, Courtney laid a the bottom of the stairs until she was found the following day.

After spending nearly 3 weeks at Maine Medical Center, Courtney is currently making progress at Spaulding Rehabilitation Center in Charlestown, Massachusetts. Recently, she has begun taking steps (literally) in learning to walk again.

Courtney will spend the holidays at Spaulding and hopes to leave after the first of the year. Leaving the rehabilitation hospital brings a new set of challenges. She needs to live near a Spaulding facility to be able to attend physical therapy. Courtney will need up to a year of physical therapy. Guests and friends at Lopstick will certainly miss her presence over the next months.

She is blessed with many friends and a wonderfully supportive workplace. But there are transportation issues, a temporary living situation needed along with durable medical devices, and insurance deductibles and co-pays for 2018 and soon, 2019.
