Rev. Dr. Betty Lancaster-Short, on her deathbed, asked her only surviving son, Dr. Randy Short, to promise to give her a stately funeral and use a portion of whatever funds raised to establish a Trust that both preserved the family legacy of service and would financially support persons and organizations that fought human trafficking, neglect of veterans, and promoted mental health for underserved communities.
Our goal is to both honor Rev. Dr. Betty Lancaster's life of service and act as an accelerated endeavor to fight human trafficking with funds raised after her death. We are holding a two-day observance of the life of Rev. Dr. Betty Lancaster-Short on the evening of Thursday, October 16th, from 6 pm to 9 pm at The Way of the Cross Church (WOTCC) and on the following day at the same location, WOTCC, on Friday, October 17th, having the viewing and funeral for Rev. Dr. Betty Lancaster-Short from 9 am to 2 pm. Many community leaders, family, friends, civil society groups, and important Human Trafficking Abolitionists leaders will be in attendance.
