Help Mike after a catastrophic ATV accident
Donation protected
On February 24, 2024, Mike was test driving a friends ATV when a dog ran out in the road. Mike tried to avoid hitting the dog, and braked hard, causing the ATV to flip over, throwing Mike off and landing on his back.
Mike has sustained multiple fractures to his spine, multiple broken ribs, a nondisplaced sternum fracture, a broken toe, contusions and severe pain.
The ambulance arrived on scene but couldn’t transport him due to the severity of his spine injuries and they ended up having him airlifted to the nearest hospital trauma center.
Miraculously, Mike does not have a spinal cord injury, but he is bed bound for now and in severe pain despite numerous pain medicine to manage the pain. He’s in a huge brace to immobilize his spine and it is unknown at this time whether or not he will need surgery.
That said, he is not able to lift, push, pull anything for 8-12 weeks and will need continuous care while he is healing. We are thankful he is alive and not paralyzed.
It is unknown when he will be able to resume work or in what capacity he will be able to work.
His livelihood is entirely dependent on the small business he’s run for 10 years in his community.
Any help during this time would be greatly appreciated.
