Help Us Start Our New Life Together

Hi there everyone,

I am starting this fundraiser in hopes that some of you that know us may possibly feel lead to reach out and lend our family a helping hand during this time of need we are currently facing. I want to start by saying that we understand that many of us are struggling and that we are no different than any other family in need and don't think we are more deserving. We also acknowledge that there will *always* be someone out there who is worse off than us and we truly are thankful for the necessities that God blesses us with day by day.

Having said that; I want to give the backstory as to what we are facing at the moment. We decided to do a cross country move, all the way from San Diego, CA to Buffalo, NY, in order to be closer to my very tight-knit family in Canada that we have lived so far away from for over 8 years.

One of the main reasons we needed to come back is to be closer to my mom who has been living in and out of nursing homes and the hospital suffering from paranoid schizophrenia and a myriad of subsequent health issues because of her inability to take basic care of herself. For the last few years she has barely been able to walk from her bed to the bathroom without assistance. For the past 4 years, because of covid and restrictions that Canada had put in place, I wasn't able to visit her or my family.

The desperate longing that I have felt to be closer to all my siblings and inability to be there for my mom has taken an emotional toll on me, our marriage and family. The thought of something happening to my precious mom when I've been gone all these years was simply unbearable, especially after being separated from her for most of my upbringing in foster care.

Between travelling costs and car troubles this move has taken everything we had. There is no easy way to reach out and ask for help, it can be embarrassing or shameful to reveal to others when you are facing a rough time. My hope is that maybe if some people are able to help, here and there, even just a little, it could add up and help us get through this financially dire situation.

Keaton will be starting a new job very soon(he just got the job today \o/ :D), and he will be trying to rent a room in Buffalo to be able to work while Eden, Isaac, and I stay with family in Toronto since we can't fully afford our new place together yet. He can't wait to get back to work, be productive, and provide for his family as he has always done so well for us Any funds that we humbly hope to achieve through this would save our good credit we have worked hard to build over the years so as to help us get approved for an apartment to rent together.

Lastly, we had to leave some furniture items behind in San Diego, due to the battle with black mold that we had been stuck for years with back in California. We have faith that God will provide as He always has. I know that He rewards our faith and hasn't let us down yet!

Please know that I would not be reaching out like this if it wasn't truly needed, if my family was in a position to help us financially, know that they would in a heartbeat. If anyone feels lead to help us on this new venture we could not express our gratitude enough. Hopefully there will come a time, sooner than later, when we can be able to bless others in return and pay-it-forward!
