I’m Jax, I’m 26 years old and recently left my home in Jacksonville Florida. I’m disabled and transgender which has caused many issues. For one my family is unaccepting and highly religious which made my living situation complicated. My parents have on and off again threatened to kick me out. I recently went to pride and came home to all my stuff in the garage and the lock code changed. The constant misgendering and forceful view of religion caused mental and physical distress. I have FND, a condition caused by trauma and brought on by stress. This caused me to have issues with constant brain fog, dizziness, trouble walking, and non-epileptic seizures. I had times when I had multiple seizures from all the stress, and I was using a walker to get around. I made the decision to leave and thanks to an amazing organization, Rainbow Refuge, I was able to get out and bring my dog with me.

Here's where I need help. Through the fantastic and wonderful efforts of the people around me I have found temporary housing in Bethesda Maryland with an amazing and accepting family. I have been doing so much better in this environment and I am thriving. However, as I am working on getting settled and becoming independent, I am hoping to find some assistance. If you could please spread the word or consider donating it would be greatly appreciated. I plan to use any money I receive towards gender affirming care, medical, dental care, and living expenses. Help with transportation costs, ideas for long term housing all are appreciated. Even just clothes can become expensive. Thank you for taking the time to read this and considering helping my cause.

Update: I am now living in a community house! Thank you all for your help. Unfortunately I have bad news. My dog, Charles has cancer and ever increasing health issues. He had a mass in his mouth which I got removed and tested for $1,300. He now needs possibly over $2,000 worth of dental work and x rays to see if the cancer has spread.
