It is with a heavy heart that I set up this fundraiser on my birthday for my grandma who raised me. My grandma passed away one day before my b-day on January 2nd 2021 from complications related to Covid-19. My grandma raised 6 children on her own. She also helped raise 10 grandchildren. I'm her oldest grandson. My grandma always called me her baby.
My grandma made many sacrifices for me. One of her greatest sacrifices was when she came to the United States in 1986. My grandma welcomed my mom and I with open arms when we arrived in L.A. in 1988. She worked very hard to provide a better life for us. My grandma taught me to be strong and to work hard. She never let me make excuses. She led by example, she never made excuses and worked harder than all of us. Grandma always supported me and made me the son, brother, father, husband and grandson I am today. I hope I can make her proud.
The funds from this fundraiser will be used for funeral and related expenses to grant my grandma her final wish. My grandma wanted to be layed to rest next to her mom in Mexico City.
My grandma's birthday is January 23rd. With your donations, I will give her the last birthday gift I can give her.
