Who this will help

My name is Devlin, my boyfriends name is Rhyan and we have two sweet fur babies named Charlie and Russell.

As of December 31st 2023, we have been residing in our camper with said dogs. While the camper is not the issue even though it is a bit of a struggle with four bodies, this was the only solution to keep our dog Russell. Charlie is a blue heeler mix so typically his breed does not have issues in regards to being accepted at most living facilities. Whereas Russell gets discriminated almost everywhere. We knew when receiving him that housing could be an issue but we knew we had to have him.

Why I'm fundraising

We recently parked with our RV at a friends house. My friends grandma is who owns the house. Upon finding out we have a pit, she said he has to go immediately. I have offered to let her meet Russell to show he’s just a good boy that wears sweaters but she refused. He wears a prong collar when on walks, a large 2inch thick rope leash, a secondary thick soft collar, and he only steps foot on the property of the house when taken out to potty which is when he wears all his gear. We offered to put a muzzle on him as well but to no avail. When we got Russ he was dumped on the road and we picked him up from a man who’s ex gf dumped him on the toad after getting a puppy. We’ve had him going on 3 years now and we don’t plan on losing that streak anytime soon.

The mother has no contract with the daughter for renting here, no receipt that she provides, nor the basics necessities to keep up with the house like electrical outlets in the kitchen or proper flooring.

My friend who allowed us to stay parked here, has just now been kicked out by said mother and the mother has now taken over my friends bedroom. (1/7/2024)

The mother has said she will also be claiming my friend and her younger sister who are both over the age of 18 on her taxes even though she 1. Doesn’t have her kids live with her but has the eldest pay rent that keeps mysteriously going up every month. And 2. Since now she has kicked her daughter out and is living in the house can now say they live together.

According to local law enforcement I spoke with on 1/6/2024, the mother can not do anything to us or my dog because we are already here but she can evict which gives us 30 days. She has no legal right to take my dog or do anything pertaining to my dog. Again, this was confirmed by local law enforcement who then also told me that my friend should not pay a dime to her mother and to report to irs.

The reason I’m creating this fundraiser is not for you to feel bad for me. This is so we can keep our family together. Russ is just a good boy who deserves his forever home. We are currently looking to tour rental properties for myself, my bf, our dogs and my friend to rent. There is hopefully a good chance we will be able to tour a house tomorrow on 1/8/2024 but we will have to wait for a call or email that morning. I’ve set our goal to $3,000 because to get moved in if approved, we would need $3,636 if our dogs are not esa(which I’m trying to do). I want to be as transparent as possible, I just don’t actually know what it will be to be comfortable and everything back to normal. The uncertainty of it all is we aren’t guaranteed to be approved. We all have over 700 credit, no evictions, no background history in regards to law breaking, and our dogs are well behaved. We are doing everything we can to stay a family. The reason we’re in the rv in the first place is so we knew Russ could be with us still. We will keep looking if the first house is a bust and keep looking until we find our home so the boys can run free and care free.

right now Russell will be going to a friends house to be taken care of as well as my bf and I going back and forth to also take care of him of course. The mother is now living in my friends room and threw her stuff out. When we are able to leave we will also be taking the fridge, freezer, and dryer we brought with us to help with the living conditions upon arrival. (Tiny mini fridge and a dryer that takes 3 cycles to dry, as well as the kitchen having only 1 outlet to use for the microwave). We both work full time as well as my friend who we will be splitting rent and other bills with.

The impact of your support

The funds will be used to find our new home and the dogs fees as well as a U-Haul to get my friends things, our outdoor kennel for the dogs that’s still broken down, the freezer, fridge, and dryer. All our things we came with and her things. If there are extra funds they will go toward the dogs having new beds upon arrival to where we get approved as well as anything else they need that we couldn’t have in the rv. UPDATE: we found a house that’s perfect! To move in is exactly $3900 and I’ve spoken with the owner! We have 30 days to leave but that doesn’t mean the house will still be available!
