How do you go from a happy girl running around, riding her bike, jumping on a trampoline to one who is bound by medications and limitations. My sweet Anna was just complaining about her leg hurting her, ( no big deal right) and as most parents my sister and brother in law thought it was just normal leg cramps or growing pains. They noticed the pains were getting worse and decided to have it checked. Figuring it was a torn muscle or something. But little did they know their life, and the life of their child was about to change. It was found Anna had a tumor on her pelvic bone that was causing the pain. After many testing and surgery's she was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma bone cancer. We now will have to stand by her side as a family and fight this battle. She will go through chemo and radiation. My sister also made the tough decision to have her get medical treatment to save her ovaries as well. She wanted to give her child the same perspective future as any one else. Unfortunately without it the treatment would damage her ovaries so bad my niece may never have children on her own. I know this any many other decisions are the hardest thing my sister and brother in law will ever have to go through. I just want to make things as easy for them as possible. The cost for this will grow in time for them without realizing it. My sister obviously will not be able to go back to work right away and my brother in law will be off and on with work to be there as much as possible. They will be back and forth to Albany for treatments for almost the next year. They are in for the longest and hardest road they will ever go down. We want there only concern to be their children.
