Hi everyone, I’m Jaqui, Leo’s mom.

During Leo’s evening walk on Thursday, Dec 11, we were attacked by a pitbull/bully mix.

As soon as I saw the pitbull launch himself at Leo, I picked him up as high as I could. What followed was incredibly traumatizing. The dog jumped across from me and got a hold of Leo, snatching him from me and shaking him.

I got on top of the dog to get him to release Leo, which led me to get bitten too. Eventually, the other dog owner managed to get Leo released from his dog's mouth.

One of our neighbors took us in and helped lay a towel for us to check Leo’s injuries. We saw a lot of blood, and I could see the deep cuts this dog’s teeth made in my poor Leo’s tiny body, in the groin area, back legs, and bottom.

Wendy and I rushed him to the vet ER where they quickly got to work on him. Leo’s injuries are extensive, and they had to stitch up 7 cuts. He is in incredible pain and has been hospitalized to keep him monitored.

Leo’s care and well-being is my top priority, and I will do everything I can to help him heal and recover. Unfortunately, the medical bills from this traumatic attack are significant and unexpected.
