Support for Father's Stroke Recovery Journey

On Tuesday March 11th, I came home from work to check on my father, and found him laying unable to move, paralyzed on his right side with the inability to speak. He was taken by ambulance to Memorial in Waycross where he was diagnosed with having had a major stroke with both a clot and bleeding in the brain. He was sent by AirEvac to Savannah Memorial where they have the neurological care that he needed. We discovered that he had untreated A-Fib which caused the clot to form in the heart and go to the brain. He is not a candidate for any surgeries or medication to remove the clot at this time in fear that the bleeding and swelling will worsen. As of right now he is being monitored in the Neuro-ICU until the bleeding and swelling subsides and then he will be able to start the anti-platelet therapy in about a week and a half in hopes to remove the clot and get him into an in-house physical therapy program. My father has a very long and trying journey ahead of him, but he is not giving up. If you know him, you know he is one of the kindest men you will ever meet. He loves to be outdoors and staying active. We know it may be a while before he is able to come home, but we are trying to make the transition as easy as possible. As of right now, he has no medical insurance. We are working on that, but even then it won't cover a lot of the things he will need. We would love to raise enough money to build a ramp & accessible shower or buy a motorized wheel chair.
