CANCER SUCKS!

On March 6, 2023, our lives changed forever when my mom (Kristy) was diagnosed with Grade Four Astroscytoma - Glioblastoma Cancer. She is a beautiful, strong, independent 49yr old woman who’s been a single mother to me and my sister for 12 years and worked hard every day to make sure she provided a good life for us.

My mom is my best friend! We did everything together, including: hiking, kayaking, camping, road-trips, softball tournaments, late night talks drinking way too much coffee, and so much more. My mom is the most selfless person I know!

This horrible cancer has caused her to lose all mobility on the right side of her body, her left side is becoming weak, her speech and memory has declined significantly, she’s having seizures, and her pain is constant. She has started treatment by doing radiation Monday - Friday and Chemotherapy 7 days a week.

I am her full time caregiver. I take her to all of her appointments, feed her, dress her, transfer her to the bathroom, handle all of her medications including chemo and her two types of insulin.

I am 24 years old working a full time job (thankfully from home) and in college full time.

Sadly we never thought we would ever have to do this but we need help since my mom can not work and my income will not cover everything to pay medical bills and make adjustments to the home to make it more livable for my mother for the remaining time she has, along with helping me take care of her better with the home adjustments.
