Support Malith Silva’s Life-Changing Surgery and Recovery

We're reaching out on behalf of Walpita Gamage Malith Silva, a 27-year-old international student from Sri Lanka, currently living in Melbourne, Australia. Malith came to Australia with hopes of building a better future through education—but his life has taken an unexpected and painful turn.

Diagnosed with a Spinal Cord Tumour

Malith has been diagnosed with a spinal cord tumour, which is causing progressive weakness in his lower limbs and recurrent falls. He is in constant pain, and his condition is deteriorating.

In late 2024, neurosurgeons recommended urgent surgery to remove the tumour. Unfortunately, Malith was unable to access the procedure due to financial constraints.

Urgent Upcoming Surgery & Financial Need

Malith now has a specialist appointment scheduled at Monash Health next week and

is preparing to undergo the life-changing surgery he desperately needs. But before treatment can proceed, he must settle an outstanding medical debt of $6,000.

In addition, he will require months of recovery and rehabilitation, during which he will be unable to work or support himself. As an international student with no income and limited access to public assistance, Malith urgently needs financial help to get through this difficult time.
