On Thursday March 23rd my husband, Kenny Vollweiler, was driving a tractor for work, passed out, and wrecked the tractor. He went to the ER where he was checked for injuries and a concussion. While in the ER, they found a mass the size of two golf balls on the left front of his brain. He was admitted to ICU where he was supposed to have a biopsy on his brain to diagnose what the mass actually is. Due to the fact that he had taken ibuprofen, the biopsy was pushed back and he was released temporarily from the hospital. The Friday before his biopsy was scheduled, the hospital called and said that we would need 50% up front to perform the biopsy that following Monday. We are looking at minimum $20,000.00 just for the biopsy. His insurance that he has through his employer is a multi plan PPO and it does not cover the procedure. My husband is 30 years old and we are one month away from having our first child. I never would have thought we would be in this situation at our age. On top of a mass on his brain he is suffering from 4 fractures in his back due to the accident. He is unable to work or drive at this time. We are doing everything we can to get this biopsy done so we will know what we are facing ahead. Any help that we can get to get this biopsy performed would be greatly appreciated. We are in a tight spot and have a long road ahead of us. Even advice or prayers would help so much. This is the first time in our lives together that we are facing something that we are not sure how to deal with emotionally or financially. Up until now, we have always been financially sound and have been planning to welcome our little girl into the best world we could provide. Now we are at the mercy of the hospital and are going to try everything in our power to get this biopsy done so we can find out what the future has in store for my husband and our family.
