The loss of Marisol Morales blindsided friends and family. She was born February 19, 1988 to Walter Morales and Wilma Morales. Marisol was the middle child out of five, raised in a loving family with 3 brothers and 1 sister. She was the source of love and laughter. One day Marisol ( Mari) met a young man. They had a good friendship in which over time turned into love. Marisol was filled with joy to find out she was expecting. A little bundle of joy was growing in her belly and heart. Gisselle Morales was born on March 3, 2008. Gisselle(Gigi for short) was her everything.
Things did not work out, as they often don't, with Gigi’s birth father and Marisol was ready to face life as a single Mother. When she met a Godsend in her new boyfriend, Lou Gonzalez. On the night of December 13, 2012, Marisol was headed to work with her boyfriend Lou. They both worked nights at the San Francisco Airport and commuted together. Marisol decided to take a nap while Lou drove. While they were passing through the San Mateo bridge, they experienced a flat tire. As they slowly merged to the right lane, another car crashed into them. Mari did not survive. The impact was too harsh on her body and she took her last breath while Lou held her.
Gigi’s birth father immediately granted custody to his sister. They took her to Mexico, where he has been hiding from the United States law for quite some time. We want Gigi back. To do so would incur large lawyer fees in which we have had a hard time keeping up with. This is where our family asks you for help. She’s been taken across the border despite many of our concerns and we need representation.
We have met with a lawyer and now have plans for adoption. All that is stopping us from moving forward is finances. We have taken a leap of faith and obtained a lawyer. We have been given an estimate of $10,000 for Termination of Parental Rights and Adoption itself. Please help us bring Gigi home.
The smallest amount would be a huge blessing. Much love and thank you for believing in us.
