Since the 4th of November 2020, Tigrayans have been victims of genocide and crimes against humanity. Ethiopia’s PM, Abiy Ahmed, with Eritrea’s President, Isaias Afewarki, and Amhara Militia have systematically committed massacres, indiscriminate killings, and have weaponised sexual-gender based violence and starvation.

UN has reported that 30,000 children are malnourished and 400,000 have crossed the threshold of famine, with 2 million on the brink. The Government of Ethiopia has blocked access to humanitarian aid from entering the region, causing millions to suffer.

The atrocities that Tigrayans have faced will have a detrimental impact on their livelihood and future as health facilities, schools and markets have been destroyed.

We are raising these funds to support the rehabilitation of Tigray and to urgently respond to this emergency crisis. This fundraiser has been organised by the Tigrean Youth Associations across Australia and the funds raised will be given to the Tigray Development Association via bank transfer and they will provide a receipt. Tigray Development Association has been instrumental in providing assistance to the victims of this genocide and will use these funds to further support the victims.
