I'm reaching out to you with a heartfelt plea for help.
The past months, after severe abdominal pain, nausea and dizziness I went to consult with a doctor in LA where they performed an ultrasound and CT scan found a large ovarian cyst measuring 9.7x9.5x6.9cm. For context, that's the size of a newborn babies head. Surgical intervention is recommended at 5cm, and I am two and a half times the size.
Due to the size alone, I've been in immense pain and have already missed work so much. I've used all of my sick and vacation time in the process of receiving a correct diagnosis. My job is great and is allowing me to take the time off. Recovery at a minimum is 7 days.
I’ve been on medical leave for a month now and thank God surgery went well, this is my second surgery in a couple years and it’s also a relief to know that the cyst is benign.
I honestly am at a loss. I am embarrassed, I am angry, I am ashamed but I do need help. I would love an opportunity to just rest, and get my life back on track but because of the expenses that’s piling up I’ve decided to return to work.
I am asking for help, for the surgery itself, and any additional follow up visits. I’ve received the full cost of the surgery and because I have not met my deductible I will end up paying the full price, which is a little over $5,000 and the copays is crippling and adds up quickly. Anything is appreciated, as I’m going through a rough time dealing with this. Your generous contribution will go directly towards giving me a chance at a pain-free and healthier future.
