Help My Family Overcome Financial Hardship

Hi, my name is Chloe. I live in Indiana with my husband and our two kids. I'm a freelance graphic artist, and my husband works full time at Walmart. I'm starting this GoFundMe because though it's hard to ask, our family is facing serious financial hardship, and we're at a point where we truly need help.

We’ve always managed to make ends meet, even when things got tight. Between my freelance work and my husband’s job, we’ve always scraped by, kept food on the table, and made sure our kids had a roof over their heads. But the past few months have been especially difficult.

My husband’s hours at work have been cut due to economic uncertainty, and I’ve been struggling to bring in enough clients to hold up my portion of our bills. In the past few months, with our bills costing us around $4,000, the cut to my husbands hours, and my recent difficulty pulling in clientele, we have relied heavily on a credit card paying quite a few of our bills to keep us afloat. Now, because the balance on that credit card is so high we’re currently paying around $200 a month just in interest, money that could be going toward critical expenses, like medical care is instead going to an interest payment that is getting us nowhere, we're just treading water.

Recently, my husband has developed a health issue that requires a doctor’s visit and likely further testing. But even with insurance (which we pay $600 a month for), the cost of co-pays and out of pocket expenses is more than we can manage right now. We’re having to choose between staying afloat and getting him the care he needs.

If we could pay down the debt on this big credit card, it would give us a bit of wiggle room in our budget to afford some of these urgent medical costs and maybe give us a little breathing room. I'm completely aware that it won’t fix everything, and that we will likely still struggle, but it will help us to take care of our immediate needs when things like health matters come up.

We have cut costs on literally everything else, we have cancelled all subscriptions from Discord Nitro, to Spotify, to Netflix, Hulu, and Disney plus. We have even cut down our phone plan as much as possible, and called our internet provider lower our plan. We are doing what we need to to survive but we just need a bit more, we're sinking.

I know times are hard for everyone, and I truly hate to ask for help. But if you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it would mean the world to us. And if you can’t donate, sharing this page would still help more than you know.

Even if the goal isn't met to pay off the credit card in full, all funds will be going to paying it down so that hopefully we can at least bring the interest down and make it a tiny bit more manageable.
