Dear Family and Friends,
Last year I had the opportunity to go to Mexico with my church on a missions trip. It changed my life and I have since realized that doing ministry like this is very fulfilling, even though we go to help. God has an amazing way of showing up and ministering to us in ways that would rarely happen in our comfortable home setting.
I have been invited to go to New Delhi, India in November with my Nani (Tami) and my Papa (Craig)! It was overwhelming at first to think of all the hurting people we would encounter and those that are considered outcasts to society, but I know God is giving me this opportunity for a reason and I want to go where he sends me.
While I am there, I have the opportunity to help some very special people, who I call Granny and Pappy (Emmanuel and Joyce Qureshi), who have planted a Vineyard church there. We have supported Granny and Pappy in different ways over the years and they are very important to me. I may even get to visit while my best friend Jared Qureshi is there serving as well!
We will be serving in several different ways and will be visiting various places including the slums, where many people are tucked away to die. It is heartbreaking to me. Seeing a homeless person in the states is disturbing, and I know this will be much more difficult. However, I know that God loves the least of these and has called us to do the same.
It may seem pretty brave to say I am going to India when the cost is around $3,500, but if God calls you to do it, I know it will take a lot of hard work but will be so worth it.
If you would like to help financially, it would be a great blessing but even more than that your prayers are what I really would like. We will be booking our flight very shortly which is about half of the cost. I am not just asking for donations, I am willing to work in order to raise money for this trip and no job is too small!
This may be a rare opportunity for me and I want to be open to how God wants to use me. Please be praying as we begin to make preparations for this trip, that God would prepare the hearts of the people we will come into contact with and also that we can be of great support to Granny and Pappy.
