My name is Megan. I'm Jody's daughter in law. Yesterday, November 13th Jody was taken by ambulance to Methodist hospital. Approximately an hour into her shift something felt off. Her mouth and tongue went numb. She was unable to raise her arm and she felt herself slowly falling but unable to move her legs to catch herself. Her left side of her body wouldn't move. Her blood pressure was 150/100.
upon arrival to the hospital they conducted an EKG, did blood work and labs. They ruled it out as being an issue with her blood pressure medication and discharged her. Approximately 2 hours later she was being taken back to the hospital due to feeling weak. She could barely walk, she was numb again and her legs wouldn't work.
after doing a ct scan with iodine and an mri they determined that she had a stroke which caused her to have a brain aneurysm. Currently she has what is called a "foot drop". She is unable to pick her left foot up to take a full step so she has to slide it across the floor as she walks with a walker. The left side of her body isn't keeping up with her right side.
this means that she will be missing quite a bit of work. She's on a single income and works extremely hard to make ends meet and still has a 13yr old son to take care of. As of right now, the doctor is saying she's going to be in the hospital for awhile. They are setting her up with inpatient rehabilitation and will likely need to have medical equipment accessible for when she comes home.
Due to her being a single mom and out of work, she needs some assistance during this difficult time to help keep a roof over her and her sons head. We are asking for prayers most importantly and any donations. Even if it's $1, anything will help.
thank you
