In Loving Memory of John Sparks, 18

Donation protected
My name is Jasmine and on Sunday, 3rd of September my family’s world came to a halt when my brother John lost his life in a car accident.

John was only 18 years old. He had worked a night shift, gone to the gym and was on his way home when it’s believed he fell asleep and veered into the other lane where he was met by a lorry. His death was instant. This is the only comfort we have.

Myself and my Dad were concerned he was late home, and using the Life360 app went to the location where it said his phone was. We were met with a sea of blue lights and in the distance his car half off the road. We knew it was bad but nothing could prepare us for the answer to my question.

“Just tell me is he alive?”

“No unfortunately he isn’t.”

John was passionate about all he was involved with, taking a massive amount of pride in every aspect of his work both at McDonald’s and his college. He enjoyed going to the gym with his friends, computing, swimming, fishing and was excited to start his Computer Science degree at Lincoln University this September.

John brought joy to everyone he met, and now a piece of us will always be missing.

John’s life was cut short with so much he never got to do. We as a family want John to still be able to leave a mark on the world, so we are setting up this GoFundMe to supplement anything that could go towards John’s send off or legacy.

As painful as it is, we will never get John back, but we want to do whatever we can for his memory to live on.
