**Update**
My sister had to make the hard decision to end Luke’s suffering and send him across the Rainbow bridge to meet with his best friend Charlie and the other pets that have passed. Luke fought hard, but his body couldn’t handle it and as painful as it was it was the right decision. The vet bills came to over 11K and we are both so grateful with how much love and support we have received for Luke and his fight. This go fund me will be up a little bit longer for anyone that would like to donate in Luke’s memory.
Thanks again ❤️
Luke’s Auntie Michelle
Hello, my name is Michelle and I’m raising money to help with my sister’s dog’s vet bills. Her dog Luke, is her best friend and he had to be taken to the emergency vet two days ago. It all started when she noticed he wasn’t acting like himself so she took him to the vet where he was diagnosed with hyperthyroid. She started treating him with medication, thinking that would help him feel like himself, but she noticed he still was not feeling well. She took him back to his vet early this week and they found that he had diabetes, although they did not see it during his previous blood results a few weeks prior. It all started going down hill from there. Before she could start treating his diabetes, she noticed he was lethargic and breathing heavy, so she took him to the emergency vet where they said he had diabetic ketoacidosis, which is life threatening, and he had to be hospitalized right away. Last night he was showing positive progress, but overnight he developed a fever and took a turn for the worse. The vet did an ultrasound and found that he has developed pancreatitis. The only way for him to survive this is by keeping him at the vet and letting their team treat him and monitor him for up to 3 more days. The vet bill is piling up, but my sister loves her dog and is not going to give up on him. He has been there for her through many good times and tough times, he is her best friend.
If you’re in a place to donate to help her with the bills that just keep piling up, she and I would really appreciate it. All money donated will go to his current vet bills and continued care. Thank you!!
Luke, on the right, is with his best friend Charlie.
