March is Brain Tumour awareness month & this year we want to raise money in support of The Brain Tumour Charity (TBTC). On 28th of June we found out that our lovely mum/wife, Tracy, has a brain tumour. Five days later, on 3rd of July, we found out that it’s cancerous and stage four. On Friday, the 8th of August, Tracy had surgery to remove as much of the tumour as possible, back in September she started radiotherapy and is currently still receiving chemotherapy. Sadly, that’s as much treatment as the NHS will offer and this hasn’t changed in the last 20 years. When somebody receives a brain tumour diagnosis of stage 4 Glioblastoma, they are given an average life expectancy of 12-18 months & we want to try and challenge this. Supporting charities, like The Brain Tumour Charity, will support funding for research into new treatments, support for individuals who’ve been diagnosed and their families as well as raising awareness on such a terrible disease.
Want to join me in making a difference? Please sponsor us as we take part in the OWN TWILIGHT WALK, where we’ll be walking 1OK on Sunday 22nd March to raise money to support The Brain Tumour Charity. Any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
