Kitten Rescue

Donation protected
UPDATE: We are so grateful for everyone who donated and helped us reach our initial target of £600.

The kittens have already had their first round of vaccinations, received their passports, and we're happy to announce that they're now proud members of the EU! They are heading back in for their microchip and rabies vaccine once they're old enough in a few weeks time.

We're now going through the process of arranging their travel to the UK. As it stands, they are too young to travel and we have to wait at least 21 days after their rabies vaccine for them to be allowed to fly, which means we can bring them home in December.

Following UK government guidelines, the cats are not allowed to fly in the cabin and the only option to fly directly to England would be to check them in as Cargo, costing around £800 per animal (way out of our price range!).

We would prefer for them to travel in the cabin as it's safer and less traumatic anyway. After researching our options, we found that Aegean airlines allows young animals in the cabin so... we're going to fly with them to Paris and cross the border from Calais to UK via Eurotunnel in a car (Eurostar unfortunately doesn't allow pets on board).

Although this new route significantly reduces our costs, it still exceeds what we estimated in order to bring the kittens home.

Again, we can't express enough how overwhelming the support has been. If we can raise a couple hundred more, it would massively help us cover these expenses:
- Flights:
Crete - Athens (£150)
Athens - Paris (£250)

- Trains:
Paris - Calais (£80)
Calais (English Channel) - UK (£200)

Who knew that two little balls of fluff would be so expensive to rescue!

In just a week, they're already looking healthier and better than ever. They're so at home and comfortable with us, we're getting lots of cuddle time in and the thought of having to leave them behind is just out of the question!

We're confident we can smash this target and bring them home in time for a Christmas miracle!

My sister & I have been travelling across Crete and came across these abandoned kitties by the edge of the Sea.

We’re fairly certain something’s happened to their mother as she’s nowhere to be seen and they were incredibly malnourished, skinny & starving when we found them!

We’ve been keeping a close eye on them over the last few days, getting their strength up, feeding them, playing games to work on their natural hunting instincts but we want to give them the chance of a good home.

Whilst they’ve grown in strength & confidence, life as a stray cat in Greece is fiercely competitive and dangerous, and we worry they’ll struggle to survive in a cat-eat-cat-world.

With that being said, we’ve started this gofundme in the hopes that all you fellow cat lovers can help us get these kittens all the vet checks, vaccinations, passports and relevant documents they need to bring them safely to the UK, where we’ll either take them in ourselves, or find them a loving home. ❤️

We hugely appreciate anything you can donate, however big or small and will be providing regular updates here, and through our instagrams
