As most of you are aware I was diagnosed with CML (Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia) in June 2012. This progressed to blast crisis/ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia) in September 2013. I endured a total of 7 rounds of very nasty, aggressive chemoherapy and a bone marrow transplant in June.
Unfortunately, despite having a 24 year old strapping young Australian male who was a perfect 10/10 match as my bone marrow (anonymous) donor, the transplant has been unsuccessful. My ALL has returned and my Consultant has informed me that my condition is terminal. In regards to my prognosis, he couldn't provide any definates but indicated I may have 3-6 months to live.
I had hoped with all my heart to be able to travel to Canada one last time to visit my family there to say a final goodbye (my Dad is Canadian and I have 50+ relatives!). However, due to the rapid deterioration of my condition I realise this is no longer an option. So instead, I will focus on spending my last days on short trips and reunions with friends and family here in Australia. Am really hoping I will have the opportunity to spend some quality time with close friends and family in Australia, as at the end of the day, nothing is more precious.
So to those of you whom have kindly asked how you can help, would you please fund me and help my wish come true?
