Update: Mom has entered hospice as of last Friday. She came off the steroids holding back inflammation caused by the cancer and the symptoms the steroids were masking are astonishing. She's back on a low dose now so she still has time with us, but she's basically bedridden, increasingly weak, and likely doesn't have very long.
We love you all. Consider donating if you didn't before, and again if you can. Mom is on a fixed income with barely enough money for groceries, and we had to leave Mississippi and come here full time, stopping any work to take care of her in the mountains of Tennessee.

My name is William McCammon, and I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my mother, Susan McCammon, who is facing serious financial hardship and urgently needs help to stay stable and safe.

My father passed away almost two years ago right after my mother received her first cancer diagnosis. He ignored his own health issues as he sat in the hospital with my mother for those first few days. He thought he had the flu. They got home, and he started coughing up blood. He was taken to the hospital, and after testing determined it was a very serious problem with organ failure, they were moving him to a larger hospital 30-45 minutes away, and he died in transport. With his passing, she lost the extra Social Security check, and his private retirement was halved for spousal death benefits. They were married for 48 years. Now with him gone she barely has enough for groceries after bills.

Despite having just become a widow, she decided to fight and began targeted radiation and chemotherapy for a year and was declared free from cancer and had a clean bill of health....

A year later, she started having some strange symptoms, and I encouraged her to go to the ER. THANKFULLY! Otherwise, we might not have caught this at all until she was already gone.

She has been given a terminal cancer diagnosis: Stage 4 Metastasized Cervical, Kidney, & Lung cancer.

My fiancée and I were already struggling due to disability, but we scraped together enough money to make the nearly 500-mile trip from Mississippi to Northern Tennessee. We are getting her affairs in order, packing, and getting rid of things, etc. But with very limited income and us having to relocate and stop all work to care for her full-time, there are serious financial constraints. These funds will be used to pay down monthly bills for Susan McCammon, so that she can focus on any treatment options she may have to extend her life, without stress or debt.

Any help at all you can offer, whether positive thoughts, prayers, or donating to this page, will be received with immeasurable gratefulness as she continues this fight for her life! Join the fight with us, however you can!
