Trans sex worker facing homelessness:need support

Hi, my name is Anto and I am setting up this fundraiser on behalf of a friend who is in urgent need of support. Suzanne is a trans sex worker, an artist, a vegan and a dancer. They are currently in living in harmful and inadequate conditions which has become untenable and they are now facing homelessness.

Suzanne has a beautiful dog Zami, who is like a best friend, and this has been a barrier to them being able to even access many of the hostels because they can’t stay together. Zami also needs several appointments for care from the vet and this can be very expensive. Suzanne is trying to stop sex working after escaping an abusive and controlling situation but this means that they currently don’t have an income to cover even basic costs of living.

As a trans person, Suzanne, like many others, has not been able to access appropriate trans healthcare in Ireland. This comes on top of having various serious health conditions which they need regular treatment for. Medical services in Ireland are in crisis and Suzanne is suffering further as a result.

Due to a recent relapse into addiction, after a period in recovery, Suzanne completed a detox program and is now on maintenance and waiting on a place in a residential rehabilitation centre. This could take a couple of months and we are seeking to raise enough money just to cover survival costs during this transition period. We have set the target at €1800 so that they have enough for vet bills, costs of hostels, any medical care and basic living costs until they are allocated their place in treatment.

With support, Suzanne will be able to return to working as an artist, providing dance classes, activism, and supporting other street-based, homeless, and drug using sex workers in the future. Please give whatever you can to help this incredible person through this emergency period.
