THE DESTRUCTION CANCER CAUSES......
The Shattered Lives Cancer Leaves Behind...
If cancer has ever touched your life or that of someone you know - you know what destruction it leaves in its wake. This is one such devastating story....
Over five years ago, my brother's wife, Karen Tidd, was diagnosed with cancer. At that time, she was working full time and my brother Tim had a thriving business. Being a Deacon at his church, Tim, along with Karen, had spent a great deal of their time ministering to others; they gleefully served the Lord on a daily basis. They had successfully raised three children who blessed them with five grandchildren.
As the cancer progressed, Karen fought it with all she had, but she lost her job, thus ending her insurance. Three years into her battle, we almost lost her, but God saw fit to allow her to remain with us a while longer - but not without repercussions. With the necessity of spending all his time caring for his wife, Tim was unable to work, later developing medical complications of his own.
As Karen's health declined, the medical bills piled up into the thousands. Tim lost his business and they lost their home. They were down to nothing but each other and their children and grandchildren, but their love for one another and their faith saw them through. Tim can no longer walk without the use of two canes as he needs a hip replacement. Without it, it will only get worse.
Karen, at the age of 61, lost her battle on January 30, 2016 and has finished her journey here on earth. She is at peace now and no longer suffering in pain. However, the cancer has left many problems that still need to be taken care of - A multitude of medical bills, final expenses and help for Tim as he picks up the pieces of his life. Lacking the ability to work he doesn't know what will happen next.
After Tim and Karen selflessly helped so many people for over 20 years, I am now asking for you to reach out and help Tim as he tries to put an end to this heartache. All he wants to do is spend his life with his remaining family and cherish his memories of Karen without worrying about what so many of us take for granted - a place to live and bills that are paid.
I pray you will find it in your heart to help; no amount is too small. God Bless each of you.
Sincerely,
Rita (Tidd) Haas
