Love for Lolly
Donation protected
Last summer, our sister Lorraine "Lolly" O'Gorman, the backbone of our family since our parents died many years ago, was diagnosed with lung cancer.
She went through a regime of treatments which seemed to be working, but recently, she received the news that it has turned aggressive. With treatments, doctors are hopeful that she may live for another 2-5 years.
Lolly is currently living in Stephenville, NL with her husband Dave, who is her rock. She has to make regular trips to St. Johns, on the other side of Nfld, which is difficult both physically and financially.
Along with cancer, Lolly recently developed a blood clot in her lung and she also suffers with acute back pain from a car accident years ago. Because of her fragile health, Dave has been forced to stay home with her and cannot leave home to travel to Alberta where he has been working these last number of years. They have been trying to make ends meet with Dave's EI, but that has unfortunately run out.
All of these circumstances have put Lolly and Dave in a major financial crisis right now and they need our help.
Lolly's only daughter Vickie lives in New Brunswick and her grandchildren with Dave's daughter Amy live in Nova Scotia. Being able to spend her remaining time with her loved ones is what Lolly needs now more than anything else.
We are hoping to raise enough money to help them with the costs of moving to Nova Scotia and to assist with the financial burden of medical costs. Not only will moving put her closer to loved ones, but travel for treatments would be less of a burden as well.
Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of knowing her knows that she has a most beautiful soul who would, and has, done anything for anyone. Even if it meant making things more difficult in her own life.
Please give anything you can to this very special angel in our lives. Anything you can give will be a help.
