My Journey Back to Korea
Donation protected
First off I want to say thank you taking the time to visit my page and helping out as much as you can. As many of you know I come from a very diverse family. I have two beautiful sisters (Stephanie Hottell and Kimberly Hottell) and an amazing loyal brother (Eric Hottell). What you might not know is that we are an adopted family. My sisters are half black half white and me and my brother are from S. Korea. During my fathers stay in Korea thru the Army both my brother and I were adpoted about a month after birth. I couldnt ask for anything more from a family. The love the diversity and the open air conversations made my childhood amazing. Growing up it was always in the back of our heads of where we truly came from.
It wasnt until last April, where I was invited to attend an adoptee conference run by a foundation called ASIA, inc. A great non-profit organization dedicated to giving back to the korean adoptees. At the conference I was blessed to meet founder and executive director Grace Song. She told me about this program which allows a certain amount of adoptees to visit and see the culture of Korea.
Well I am so excited to announce that she has selected me as a candidate for the 8 day trip! Its the journey of a lifetime and did not think I would ever be able to visit Korea again. With that being said the only stipulation is that I come up with the airfare for the trip. I would be staying with a host family in Seoul, Korea and create a lasting friendship with them. The organization is willing to take me around the city and show me the sites and take me to my adoption agency as well.
The purpose of this journey isnt me trying to find my family, its simply to travel half way across the world to see a beautiful country that I was born in and take in the sites and culture. While Im there I will visit my adoption agency and maybe find out a few new things about myself.
My goal for this page is just to raise a little money to get to the motherland and I would really apprectiate any donations. This trip for me will be the trip of a lifetime and hopefully a positve life-changing experience. I would be documenting this journey with my latest camera device(gopro)! By donating in some fashion I promise this will not be trip wasted. Again this means a lot to me to be able to visit Korea, and would like to be able to share my experience and jouney with you all!
The dates I will be traveling will be March 25- April 2. Ticket prices are not that high yet but I am on the clock with getting these tickets. Again thank you so much for taking the time to read this and you will not be forgotten with your donation. I will return the favor sumhow sumday in sum fashion or other. Thank you and Much Love!
