Help relocate Eddie and his mom

Donation protected
My name is Gabbie, the youngest of 6 siblings, and with 5 children of my own.  Two siblings and our mother live in California, while the rest of us have lived in Utah.

Eddie is the second of us siblings and currently lives with our mother in California.  He has a daughter who lives with her mother in Colorado, but visits her dad on a regular basis. He is an animal lover, and before his issues began, he was the kind of person that always helped out others in need, specially the homeless, this included not only people, but animals as well.  If someone needed shoes, he would give his away! Everything he had, he would give away to those in need. All his nephew and nieces loved him becuse he was funny and loving.

One day, out of the blue, Eddie had a seizure, which ended him up in the hospital. The doctors found a large left frontal lobe tumor and explained that this was the cause of the seizure and the reason for his radical change in behavior and memory loss in the past months. On December 11th he had surgery to remove the tumor. Doctors were only able to remove part of it. Tests revealed the tumor to be cancerous. Since surgery, our brother has lost some of his eyesight in his right eye, more memory loss and body balance/cordination. He is not even able to walk his dog ( the love of his life, AK) anymore without someone else being with him, as he forgets where he is going and gets lost within the streets of the town he grew up in, and falls because he cannot balance himself, therefore causing additional head trauma.

Due to his physical and mental state, he has also become aggressive because he doesn't understand why he can't do things on his own anymore. Our other brother, also has health issues, which our mother has been helping him with. Our mother, since she migrated to the United States, is an agricultural seasonal laboral, whom has managed to care for them, with our help, up until now. She is 60 years old and due to this situation, she cannot do it on her own anymore. The doctors anticipate she will need a strong person to help her care for Eddie as his physical and mental needs will just grow.  According to the doctors, this cancer is rare and needed more testing. We are expecting to receive the results along with a treatment plan within the next week. We visited mom for a week to help out and just returned home to spend Christmas with our families and start looking for a place for mom and brothers to live.

Any funds raised will be used towards relocating our mother and brothers from California to Utah and establishing a new home.  As a family, we are faced with the challenge of gathering enough funds to transport our mother and brothers to Utah, along with their belongings, which means the rental of a uhaul and plane tickets, as Eddie is unable to travel by land due to his condition. In addition to that, we need to rent a place and  purchase certain items needed to make the home safe for  Eddie, which insurance does not cover. Insurance doesn't cover all of his medications and some copays can be pretty high. Not to mention that we don't even know what will be needed in the near future, as his treatment plan is still under review, waiting for the final results.  Our mother will no longer be able to work and most of us have been stay home moms with some having a part time job, so monies are limited. Even though we have put together our savings, it's still not enough and it will take more time to be able to move our mother and brothers to Utah......time that we feel we don't have! We would very much like to make this happen sooner.

We are hoping to be able to relocate our family to Utah within a 2 week period and continue treatment here.

This means alot to us because, not only did we just loose our father 5 months ago to congestive heart failure and kidney failure, and now the possibility of loosing our brother Eddie to cancer........ but the possibility of also loosing our mother due to health issues if she does not get the physical help and emotional support she needs to be able to deal with this situation, is unbearable!
This means alot to us because it means keeping our mom alive!

We are very well aware that times are tough for everyone, and that everyone has their own problems to bare, therefore we will be eternally grateful for any support anyone gives us, weather it's a prayer or a dollar........ Thank You!
