Please help Alex

Hi, I’m reaching out for help for my long time friend Alex. Alex is one of the good guys you hear about and he is rapidly dying from cancer The State just cancelled his disability insurance and he needs more $$ help than I can provide alone.

I’ve known Alex for 19 years and was instantly drawn in by his charisma. Alex is the kind of guy that fills the room with his personality and makes everyone feel loved. He is in a bad way and needs some love and financial support.

You know when you think you hit rock bottom and you start to have a small glimmer of hope only to have the bottom drop out? This is where he is right now.

Alex has 2 grown boys of his own and he adopted his ex-wife’s daughter from her second marriage when she passed. He raised them all to be good humans and sent them all to college on his own by cleaning carpets for a living. He currently drives for Uber but his car was recently damaged by thieves trying to get the cars catalytic Converter. Alex has a little hope and his sole existence is focused on the upcoming birth of his 1st grand daughter around Feb 15 and this is the reason for this fund raiser.

Alex was diagnosed with breast cancer about 8 years ago. He has had 2 rounds of chemo and multiple surgeries and his cancer went into remission. A few years later his cancer returned with a vengeance. He was diagnosed with leukemia and several cancerous tumors showed up. His PET scans light up like Time Square on New Years Eve. My friend is a mess for sure.

3 months ago Alex began an aggressive round of double dose chemo that was scheduled for 7 months. After 2 treatments his body rejected the chemo and his doctors terminated his treatments because it was doing more harm than good. They pretty much sent him home to die. Without the chemo, his body has no way to stop the cancer from spreading and with no immune system he gets infections easily. To prolong his passing, he started receiving white blood cell infusion therapy to give him a fighting chance and monthly Iron injections to help him feel better.

Yesterday, Feb 03, 2023, he received a letter from the State of California informing him that his disability benefits have been terminated because he is no longer receiving Chemo therapy. The state does not recognize ’cancer’ as a disability. Alex has no medical insurance so his white cell therapy and his iron injections have stopped and he has lost all hope. The state also stopped his disability payments.

The reality is that Alex is suffering and he won’t be with us much longer and he is calling his loved ones to say his goodbyes. I got my call yesterday.

Here is my request. Alex’s last hope and desire in life is to drive from Sacramento down to Bakersfield to see his grand daughter be born and to spend time with her.

Alex needs an Iron injection this week to provide strength for him to ride out the month. He needs the injections monthly but we don’t know if he will be with us next month. The treatments are very expensive and without the disability, he can’t afford them.

The bottom dropped again…

Alex’s catalytic converter was recently damaged because someone thought they needed it more than him. He needs a new converter. His car won’t make the trip next week to see his Grand daughter without the repair.

Alex needs $3,500 for 1 Iron injection and $1,700 to get his car repaired this week so he can see his grand daughter be born. Alex is one of the good guys and needs help.

Please help Alex.
Thank you for helping Alex
