Saving Henry

We never thought we would be making a Go Fund Me at midnight, sobbing, holding our sweet Henry boy on the kitchen floor, but somehow, here we are.

Yesterday I heard him yelp with many repeated high pitched screams after jumping off the couch. He was instantly in severe pain and not right. We rushed as quickly as humanly possible to the ER thinking the worst. (At the time I actually thought he was bloated). After diagnostics we found out Henry mostly likely has a spinal disc protruding out of place in his spine, known as IVDD.

The doctor started him on many pain meds and said we would know more in 48 hours. By the time I got home from work yesterday he had progressed to much worse. He can now hardly walk, he doesn’t know where his legs are in space. When walking he crosses them and stumbles, causing him to fall and yelp in pain.

I instantly called the ER doctor who saw him and my own veterinarian, they both agreed if by this point the meds were not working they would not help him. He needs emergent spinal surgery. This can only be done by a neurologist in Milwaukee or Madison.

Mark and I know we cannot afford to help our baby. We never dreamed we would be here begging for help, but we decided to not be too proud to ask for financial help if it means it would save our sweet boys life.

Time is fighting against us, as the inflammation presses on his spine he loses more and more sensation to his body.

We humbly ask for any help monetarily you can give so we can take him to see neurology, get an MRI and very likely spinal surgery to save Henry’s life.
