Help The Carter Family
Update: It absolutely breaks my heart to add this, but on August 17, 2021, David lost his fight with COVID-19 and passed away. Going forward, the assistance you provide will help to cover funeral costs along with outstanding medical bills and his family's bills.
My name is Brandon Ratliff, and I'm doing this fundraiser on behalf of my longtime friend David Carter, and his family - his wife Christina, and his two daughters, Amy and Zoey.
David is currently in the hospital with the delta variant of the COVID-19 virus. He was diagnosed on July 21, 2021, and soon entered the ICU for treatment, as he'd developed pneumonia in his lungs. On the morning on July 27th, his lungs collapsed, leading his treatment team to intubate him and induce a medical coma, giving him a chance to fight off this pathogen that has affected so many lives over the last year and a half.
In addition to accruing medical bills, we are running this to help his family keep their ends met while he is not working.
Many of you might know David as the owner of the Kansas City Reapers of the Midwest Regional Football League. In fact, I was approached with the idea of starting this by Jason Simbro and Ben Decker of the Midwest Chiefs, also of the MRFL. While we may not always agree on everything, we all know that at the end of the day, football makes us a family, and family supports one another in times of need. You might also know David as the bassist of the rock band Noveria, a band that we founded together back in 2010. But above all of that, in addition to David being my friend since our junior year of high school twenty years ago, you know that he's there for his friends and loves his family immensely. Any help you might provide would be greatly appreciated by Christina, Amy, and Zoey.
Lastly, some of you might know that I'm a photographer, owner of Atelis Photography. Anyone that donates $100 or more will be able to redeem a complimentary photoshoot of your choosing with me. You can use it for yourself or donate it to a friend. Feel free to contact me for more information.
Thank you! We all appreciate you.
