Putting The Pieces Back Together

The best thing about being a part of the Starbucks family is that when one of us falls, we come together to pick them up. What's even better is we've seen the same support time and time again from our extended family as well as from our customers. Today I ask for your help with one of my partners, Timika Hall.

Timika was awakened in her home one morning by a mysterious burning smell. Unable to find the source of the smell, she went back to sleep, only to be awakened again by the same smell, only this time much stronger. This time, she woke her boys and they all went searching for what was causing the smell. Eventually they noticed small flames flashing from behind a kitchen wall socket and called 911. There had been an electrical fire developing inside the walls of her kitchen and living room, caused by an electrical malfunction, possibly initiated by the severe storms that passed through the area the night before. We are all very thankful this didn't escalate in the middle of the night while everyone was asleep and that the discovery was made before even more damage occurred.

Unfortunately, there is extensive damage to her kitchen and living room, including smoke and water damage. Timika and her family will be displaced through the remainder of the holiday season and possibly beyond, as they await repairs to be made. We're looking to raise funds that can go towards helping Timika and her family through the holidays (including her birthday)!
