Triumph for Teresa

I want to convey to you how beautiful of a human being Teresa is but it seems like an impossible task to put into words. She never asks for help yet she is always there to offer hers. She’s raised money for charity organizations, she’s raised children, she’s raised the spirits of people around her that needed a little extra help. She is a business owner, a mother, a sister, a wife, a friend, and a fighter. She is strong, strong-willed, determined, and driven. At only 57, Teresa has much left to accomplish and experience in life and right now, she needs our help.

Teresa has always had a long history of allergies, so it wasn't much of a thought to get checked out earlier this year when she started having symptoms of an allergy-like nature. She went to the doctor and when things didn't quite sound right, tests were run. On June 23rd, Teresa received the news that what they found was Adenocarcinoma - lung cancer. It was a few more days before she and her family would find out more specific details and the news was a hard hit. The now stage IV cancer is not only in her lungs, but also in her femur, pelvis, spine and rib. More tests are coming to make sure it has not spread to other areas and we will update as soon as new information is available.

There is a ray of light in this storm – Teresa is otherwise very healthy. She is physically strong, her organs seem to be clear of any cancer, and her will is solid – she will do what it takes to kick cancer’s butt.

But this will not be an easy fight – it will be a long, hard battle she needs to win. A treatment plan is being mapped out at this time and will most likely include chemotherapy and immunotherapy. We all know how devastating this situation is. Whoever fights it cannot fight it alone. Teresa needs our help. She needs our support and our assistance to get through this. There is insurance but that will not cover everything. There will be traveling involved, medications, supplies, procedures, daily living expenses - so many things to take car of and it will be a daunting task.

We are asking for your help in this fight for Teresa. She will need all of her strength and determination to fight this and that’s what we want her concentrating on, not the financial hardship they will be going through. Please consider helping. Everything counts right now – everything. Her community, her family and friends - we are all relying on the love and support that everyone can provide and will ultimatey help her defeat this insane situation so that she can heal and live a beautiful life.
