Support for Jackson

Jackson Bramwell Hindy is a smart, inquisitive 7 year-old boy, with an infectious smile that can light up a room. On June 23rd, 2022, Jackson and his family’s world was turned upside down when he was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma located in his face. Ewing’s Sarcoma is an extremely rare type of cancer that requires swift action to treat. As a result, Jackson will be undergoing aggressive treatment for the next year at the Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg, including chemotherapy, surgery and many investigations. Jackson’s parents, Jeff Hindy and Harriet Monias, are now faced with the difficult task of relocating to Winnipeg in order to support Jackson. They have been required to take extended leave from work. This has placed a significant financial burden on them and their 4 children. We are asking for any support you may be able to give for Jackson, his parents, and his siblings, so that they can be there for Jackson and give him the best chance at a full recovery.

Jackson just graduated from Grade 2 at Sacred Heart School in Sioux Lookout. He is smart beyond words and was reading street signs and ad signs when he was 4 years old. His favourite past-time is Fortnite gaming with some of his close buddies. There isn’t a dinosaur family, or any of the mammals in the ocean that he doesn’t know. He loves to educate us on all this information! He has a very great sense of humour. He has recently been able to collect a fine group of Goo Jit Zu characters, rewards for getting through any bloodwork and needles. He has it all figured out!

Jackson will start chemotherapy next week, followed by surgery and potentially other procedures. He will spend 2-5 days in hospital for each treatment session, this repeats every second week. Because of the complex nature of where his cancer is, he must stay in close proximity to the hospital for ongoing observation throughout all his treatments as well as ongoing tests.

This is just the beginning of a long journey. We are humbly asking for any financial donations that you may be able to contribute. Please keep Jackson in your prayers for a very positive outcome to the difficult journey that he and his family are about to undertake.
