Help Earthquake Survivors in Afghanistan Rebuild Their Lives

My name is Javid Nooristani, and I come from a small village in Nooristan, eastern Afghanistan. On September 1st, a devastating 6.0 earthquake struck this region, destroying homes and lives across very rural and isolated areas. The province of Kunar was hit especially hard, where more than 800 people have lost their lives and countless others are injured. Entire villages have collapsed, leaving families with nothing. Many of those affected are my fellow countrymen, some of them my relatives and friends, who are now left to survive in the open without shelter, food, or medical care.

In these isolated villages, help is extremely difficult to reach. Families are sleeping outdoors without protection from the elements, while medical facilities are overwhelmed. Survivors are grieving, hungry, and struggling to meet even the most basic needs.
